DOD Skillbridge

DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. The DOD SkillBridge program is for active-duty service members and select groups of the National Guard and the Reserves within 180-days of their separation date. Eligibility includes active-duty Guard (including Title 32) and Reserve members. Guard and Reserve members should contact their local Education and/or Transition Office for more information.

• Service members participating in a 120-day DoD SkillBridge placement at Tobyhanna will gain relevant experience in Organic Industrial Base operations and transferrable production management and mission execution skills.  Participants will also have opportunities for leadership shadowing, and career development services for resume building and interview skills.

• The experience provides an invaluable chance to work and learn in civilian career areas.

• Service members participating in DOD SkillBridge programs continue receiving their military compensation and benefits, while industry partners provide the civilian training and work experience.

• Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after their chain of command, field grade commander, provides written authorization and approval.
