As one of the business focus areas at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD), Manufacturing encompasses a wide spectrum of processes. This includes engineering, machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing, plating, painting, cable manufacturing, and mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly. Tobyhanna Army Depot strives for excellence in delivering a quality product on time and at cost. Tobyhanna is an ISO 9001/14001 certified facility. The manufacturing process at Tobyhanna Army Depot begins in the engineering department with a review of all customer-supplied documents for design and/or manufacturability to specifications, requirements, or drawings. Customers are furnished an estimate/quotation of the part or project, normally within 10-14 working days, depending on the complexity of the program and number of assemblies/parts submitted for quote. During this review, the engineers can provide cost reduction input and design for manufacturability review.
