The Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania offers such a wide variety of fun and excitement that it fits anyone’s lifestyle.

Tobyhanna Army Depot is located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, a year-round resort region. The Pocono's encompass a total of 2,400 square miles of beautiful terrain and exciting adventures, bounded on the East by the Delaware River, and the West by the Lehigh River, and spreading through four counties: Monroe, Carbon, Pike, and Wayne.

For summer fun there is camping, fishing, boating, horseback riding, swimming, golf, tennis, sailing, biking, picnicking, and hiking. Hundreds of nearby lakes and streams offer a variety of fish; large and small mouth bass, walleye, trout, pickerel, perch, bluegill, and bullheads. The rolling hills are ideal for golf. There are virtually dozens of public and private golf courses throughout the area. At least 13 State Parks and State Forest Picnic Areas can be counted in the immediate areas. They offer camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, boating, and nature trails. In fact, bordering our depot is Tobyhanna State Park.

In autumn, you won't find a wider variety of flaming foliage anywhere else in the country. There are 123 varieties of trees native to the area. They create a dazzling, colorful show for miles. For hunters the area has lots to offer. Rabbits, pheasants, woodcock, turkeys, white tail deer, and black bear roam the woods.

Winter snows brings a different kind of excitement. Numerous ski areas are found throughout the region, with vehicle drops up to 1,000 feet.

In spring, balmy temperatures and blooming trees welcome early picnickers and hikers. High water levels bring out the canoeists, and the more adventuresome can try their hand at white water rafting.

And, there is also spectator sports available such as; harness and thoroughbred racing, NASCAR racing at Pocono International Raceway, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are the Triple A minor league baseball team for the New York Yankees.

Located just over 100 miles from New York City and Philadelphia, Tobyhanna Army Depot is only about 2 hours driving time from either metropolitan area.
